Juvederm Dermal Fillers

Green Relief Health offers the JUVEDERM collection of injectables in Baltimore. This brand represents the most common hyaluronic acid fillers currently in use in the United States. There are several different types of Juvederm fillers which are similar to Restylane fillers as well. Each is designed to treat specific problem areas including the cheeks, lips, unwanted lines, and facial wrinkles. The results are natural looking and can last up to two years. The length of results varies for each patient depending on the specific filler used.

The hyaluronic acid in the filler is a compound that is naturally produced by the body to support the structure of the skin. It is often described as the scaffolding of the skin along with collagen. Binding both collagen and water, Hyaluronic acid injectables work by naturally adding volume to the skin which smooths out lines and folds.

Difference Between Juvederm Ultra and Juvederm Ultra Plus

While both Juvederm Ultra and Juvederm Ultra Plus are Hyaluronic Acid (HA) dermal fillers separated by just a single word, there are differences in the areas they are best suited to treat, and how long they last. Juvederm Ultra XC has a thinner consistency and generally lasts 6-12 months. For many people, Juvederm Ultra XC is the ideal treatment for the correction of mild to moderate superficial wrinkles, thinning lips and under eye volume loss. For those suffering from deeper, more prominent facial folds and significant volume loss, Juvederm Ultra Plus XC may be used to provide more dramatic results. Juvederm Ultra Plus has a thicker consistency and can last up to one full year. Both Juvederm Ultra XC and Juvederm Ultra PLUS XC contain lidocaine to give the patient a less painful experience.

Juvederm Ultra XC effectively treats and targets:

  • Superficial wrinkles

If you have mild to moderate facial wrinkles in areas such as between the eyebrows or frown lines, forehead, midface, or chin then Juvederm Ultra is the better option as it has a thinner consistency for rapid correction of these superficial issues. For fine lines around the mouth, Volbella is the ideal choice.

  • Under Eye Hollows or Dark Circles

Juvederm Ultra can be used to restore under eye volume loss (tear trough deformities). In doing so, it can also reduce the appearance of under eye dark circles

  • Lip Enhancement

Should you find yourself seeking a minor enhancement to your lips, Juvederm Ultra or Volbella is an excellent option. The finer molecules provide a silkiness that works best for a natural appearing lip enhancement.

  • Scar Correction

The thinner consistency of Juvederm Ultra is better equipped at correcting the appearance of scars.

Juvederm Ultra Plus XC effectively treats and targets:

Deeper, more prominent wrinkles

Due to its thicker consistency, and deeper dermal placement, Juvederm Ultra Plus eradicates deeper smile lines (nasolabial folds), lines at the corner of your mouth (marionette lines) and moderate to severe facial volume loss.

Loss of Facial Shape/Volume

Differing from Juvederm Ultra, Juvederm Ultra Plus is injected into the deeper layers of the skin, which is ideal for facial shaping like providing a more defined jawline and reduced jowls for men and women.

Juvederm Volbella

Juvederm Volbella is a naturally based filler composed of hyaluronic acid (HA) and lidocaine. Since hyaluronic acid biologically occurs in the body, the body naturally accepts it when administered. We utilize this FDA approved treatment method to subtly enhance your mouth and lip region via a series of gentle, sterile injections. The unique formulation is catered specifically for enhancing volume in and around the lips, creating a shiny and smooth fullness. After the dermal gel is applied the HA formula continues to attract and retain moisture, providing impressive results which last for about a year post procedure.

Our dedicated clinical team will assist you through every step of your Juvederm treatment in Baltimore. Prior to your procedure, we will apply a topical numbing cream to offset discomfort caused by the injections. Once your treatment begins, the Green Relief Health team administers a series of precise injections to the target areas. Since Juvederm is infused with lidocaine, discomfort is very slight. Each treatment should last between 15-30 minutes, depending on your physical characteristics and goals.

During your consultation, our team will help you decide which type of Juvederm is best suited for your treatment. We will talk through the entire procedural overview, including the areas of injection and steps we take to ensure you are comfortable and safe.

In following our guiding beliefs and practices, we recognize that every patient has unique needs. As such, the cost of Juvederm varies by patient. We will review the total cost of your procedure during your consultation appointment and are happy to offer financing options to help you afford the cost of Juvederm. We also have regular specials that allow you the opportunity to save money on your favorite products and services.

Immediately after your treatment, there may be slight redness, swelling, bruising, tenderness, and an itching sensation in the treated area.  This is a normal result of the injection. The inconvenience is temporary and generally disappears in a day or two. If the inconvenience continues or if other reactions occur, please contact our office.

The initial swelling after treatments may last longer than two days. Some patients experience swelling for about a week and the injected area can look somewhat uneven during this time. This means that the result directly after the treatment should not be seen as the final result. It may take 2 to 4 weeks to even out.

After 3 to 6 weeks, we may want to re-evaluate the need for additional treatment. Vertical lip lines will not go away completely, but they will soften in appearance.

After any treatment with fillers, you may feel lumpy and/or bumpy for a few weeks or even months afterwards. This is normal. The key is to not to see the lumps.

After 3 hours when Lidocaine wears off, if you feel any excessive heat or burning in or close to the injected areas, please call Green Relief Health immediately.

Avoid touching the treated area for 3 to 4 hours following the injection.  After that, light make-up can be applied, and the area can be gently washed with soap and water. Until the initial swelling and redness have resolved, do not expose the treated area to intense heat (i.e., sunbathing, or tanning bed) or extreme cold.

If you have previously suffered from facial cold sores, there is a risk that the needle punctures could contribute to more cold sores. If you are using aspirin or any similar medication, be aware that these may increase the bruising and bleeding at the injection site. You may take Tylenol for discomfort.

Please avoid alcohol and exercise for 12 hours following the injection and be sure to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

You may gently apply an ice pack to the treated area for 10 minutes an hour for the first 3 hours following the injection. Apply lightly, do not use too much pressure.

Dermal fillers gradually dissolve. The correction does not last forever. Many people choose to be treated again within 4 to 6 months of the original treatment. However, this time frame can vary depending upon the area that was treated and the product that was used.
